Anteros had thought of it as taming the untameable.

He was wrong.

Utterly and completely.

This is now the third time Loki has been forced to love someone against his will.

The first time, well, that was an accident he hadn't intended. And he had not held it against Eve. It mightn't be called true love, though, for he'd been rather selfish in wanting to keep her with him. Of course, he is rather selfish.

The second time...he hadn't held that against Antigone, either. And not so much against Eris as one might think. It was to be expected from her, after all, just as such things are to be expected from him. And even so, he'd made the best of it. He'd let himself love her. But again with the selfishness. And that selfishness had manifested itself...violently. To say the least.

And now. And now, Anteros. With Eve, it had been perhaps more lust than anything else. With Antigone, there was some prior possibility of one day at least liking her, so he let himself love her, truly. But with the Unrequited....the Loki that Anteros sees is simply a shell. The outward guise is forced by the erote's toxin, forced to be utterly, pathetically, humiliatingly devoted to Anteros. But inside that shell, Loki is bound just as tightly as he ever was to his rock.

Inside, Loki is screaming.

Inside, he wants blood.
